Scary Movie: It feels Good to Be Back, Says Shawn Wayans

Notable actor, Shawn Wayans has made a splendid return to the movie scene in the New flick, Scary Movie, saying it feels good to be back.

Filled with vulgar language, plenty of parody and limited laughs, the Wayan’s attempt at a third installment sees the return of the core four.

Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) are all back in their original roles in this latest installment directed by Michael Tiddes.

From movies “Sinners,” “M3GAN,” “Michael”, “The Substance” to “Weapons,” there’s plenty of sex jokes as it is discovered a new Ghostface killer is in town and everyone gets together to figure out a plan to eradicate him.

The plot, which is merely a vehicle for the jokes, is based completely on the plot of “Scream,” with the spoofs of other movies tacked on top of it. If you aren’t familiar with Scream, all you need to know is that a serial killer in a Halloween costume is back. Like all spoofs, it helps you get the jokes if you have seen the movies they are spoofing, but even if you haven’t, you may still find yourself laughing If you are familiar with their brand of humor.

“It feels Good to Be Back and to be having fun,” says Shawn Wayans who doubles as co-writer and actor in the film. “Laughter is always important no matter what time you are living in. We have a super talented cast who have great personalities and it was quite a reunion as I haven’t seen a lot of them in many years and it was great to pick up from where we were left off in the last movie. We also have our kids doing a scene and it’s nice to see the next generation.”
The humor in this movie is based on the concept that if enough jokes are fired off in a row, some of them will make you laugh. The concept works. In other words, if you are groaning over a joke that fell flat, don’t worry. There are ten jokes coming right behind it that will make you laugh.
All in all, “Scary Movie” which made a huge cultural impact when it was released in 2000 follows the same similar formula. It is silly, light entertainment, outright mockery, irreverent and extremely vulgar.
