Halle Berry Stars in New Crime Drama, ‘Crime 101’

Oscar winning actress Halle Berry has starred in several crime dramas from her breakthrough role in “New Jack City,” “Gothika” to the 2019 thriller “Kidnap.” In her latest film “Crime 101,” she plays an insurance broker. 
Set in Los Angeles, “Crime 101” follows a professional thief, and the police detective determined to catch him.
Chris Hemsworth, plays a thief, plays whose high-stakes heists along the iconic Los Angeles 101 freeway has mystified police. When he eyes the score of a lifetime with hopes of this being his final job, his path collides with a disillusioned insurance broker (Berry) who is facing her own crossroads.
 
Based on Don Winslow’s book, an author known for his gritty crime fiction series, the film is written and directed by Bart Layton and also stars Corey Hawkins, Nick Nolte and Mark Ruffalo, who plays the detective determined to catch the culprit in the cat and mouse game. 
Berry won an Oscar in 2002 for her performance in the movie “Monsters Ball.” Her historic win made her the first, and to date, the only Black woman to win an Oscar for a leading role.
“Crime 101” releases in theartres on February 13.
