Edun Family Gives Matriach, Mrs Olufunmilayo Mobolaji Edun, a Glorious Farewell in Lagos

It was an unforgetable farewell gathering for the Edun family as celebrated founder and Managing Director of the award-winning Daniel Ford International, Yemi Edun and his siblings pulled all the stops in the metropolitan city of Lagos to honour their late mother, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Edun, with a breathtaking final burial ceremony.

Late Mrs. Olufunmilayo Mobolaji Adunni Edun’s journey to the great beyond kicked off with wake service which was held at Nelo’s place, Ikeja Lagos.

The service, which was officiated by Rev. Canon Dr. Olusiji Kolawole and other ministers of God, witnessed rendition of hymns, bible reading, sermon and tributes.

The following day was funeral service which was held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Shogunle.

At exactly 10:00 am, the church service began with the receipt of the remains of the deceased at the entrance of the church with processional hymns rendered by the church choir.

During the sermon, Rev. Canon Dr. Olusiji Kolawole described Mama as a devout Christian, cherished philanthropist, mother to all and a revered community leader.

After the church service, all roads were led to Ikoyi cemetery where the deceased was committed to mother-earth.

A grand reception was held at Jewel Aeida Event Center, Lekki, Lagos.

The reception was anchored by MC Ajele and SB live was on band stand to entertain the guests.

The event witnessed heartfelt tributes, and regal displays of the traditional Eyo masquerade. This was a proof that even in grief, greatness speaks; Late Mrs. Olufunmilayo Edun’s legacy lives on.

In attendance were Abia State Governor, His Excellency Alex Otti; Chairman, Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa OON; Chairman, Ovation Media Group, Aare Dele Momodu; Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Olusegun Alebiosu; Former CEO of First Bank, Prince Bisi Onasanya and wife; Otunba Yemi Lawal and wife; Former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy of Nigeria, Mrs Kemi Adeosun and husband; Prince Adedamola Aderemi and Aare Bashir Fakorede among others.
