First Bank Unveils New Coporate Identity With Fanfare

Great applause and cheers resounded around Eko Hotel and
Suites as FBN Holdings Plc., Nigeria’s largest financial services group,
unveiled its refreshed corporate identity for the entire group, including all its
subsidiaries.


The event which was witnessed by the media, partners,
investors, friends and customers marked the beginning of a new era for the
financial powerhouse. The rebranding exercise was also to mark the


120th Anniversary celebration of the institution. Founded in 1894 as The Bank
for British West Africa, FBN Group’s First Bank was the very first banking
institution to be established in Nigeria.


Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO),
FBN Holdings, Mr. Bello Maccido, said; “Today’s announcement of the refreshed
FBN Group’s identity is an important milestone and the culmination


of much hard work. We are committed to building a financial institution that
consistently supports growth and that celebrates and showcases the unique characteristics
of the diverse nations on our continent.


‘’We believe that our continued success will be built on the principle that we
will add value nationally, regionally and at continental level. Our customers
have always come first and each and every change that we implement as a group
is designed to ensure that continues.”


The speech over, a documentary celebrating the Nigerian
nation was shown, after all, the Nigerian history cannot be told without a rich
mention of First Bank. After the rich documentary, a stage play, depicting the
rich culture as well as the characteristics and potentials of Frist Bank in
Nigeria was staged.


Determined to bring another century of firsts, FBN Holdings showed yet, another
documentary


chronicling the achievements of the Holdings, which was described as a
supermarket of banks.

Thereafter, the guests went for some break to munch some
meals before the new logo was unveiled. While they were busy munching, the
Master of Ceremonies, ace comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka, the 1st, invited talented
saxophonist, Beejay Sax to entertain them.


As soon as he was done, witty comedian, Apororo
took over, and for the next 15minutes, he thrilled the audience with his jokes,
advising the guests, including the two longest customers of the bank, Mallam
Farouk and Baba Adesiyan, not to get too carried away with his jokes. Later, it
was the turn of Lady Inspiro with her brand of entertainment, eulogizing the
brand of the century, FBN Holdings.
